FISHING - IDAHO STATE RECORD RAINBOW

A NEW RECORD BOOK RAINBOW

By Jim Foster

It’s a hearty CONGRATS to American Fall Reservoir angler Mark Adams for his record-breaking catch. Mark hooked and landed a rainbow trout that tipping the scales at a whopping 34.74 pounds and measuring 41 and 1/8 inches long. This crunched the previous state record by 14.72 pounds.

Dave Teuscher, Idaho’s regional fisheries manager was quoted as saying, “…three good water years in a row helped to make for large fish this season in the reservoir”. Teuscher went on to say, “Carry-over water this year is perfect.”

Really big trout are not that common in rivers but lakes and reservoirs can grow some whoppers. Even for lakes this fish is a real trophy.

Again, Congratulations Mark, you are giving us a number to shoot for.
