JIM'S GEMS - A BAD TIME TO BE GREEN

NOT A GOOD YEAR FOR GREENIES
By Jim Foster

Now that the Interior Department has come to it’s/his senses and stated they would approve Wyoming’s wolf management plan, it’s time to move on to more pressing matters, right?

Nope, those misguided souls in New York (NY) City are screaming foul and the NY Times is editorializing about the plight of the “poor wolf”. They just can’t stay out of Western Issues.

Part of the editorial implied that, Secretary Ken Salazar and the Fish and Wildlife Service have somehow betrayed the species they had worked so hard to recover.

After the editorial was published the new U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Director wrote a letter to the editor of the New York Times, stating the fact that, “the wolf IS recovered”, and the endangered species act had done its job, so let it go.

Maybe a few of the wolves would find a comfortable place in New York’s Central Park?

On a different topic the greenies took another jab to the kisser when the green energy plant took 500 million dollars from the government (U.S. taxpayers) then went belly up. Most rational thinkers are sure this company was a large contributor to the Obama campaign and thus reason for the stupid stimulus loan Obama signed off on.

The Obama administration is killing our real source of power of available power, oil, long before there is a viable replacement. IF, and that’s a large word, a refinery permit was issued today it would be 9 years before it would be on-line and productive.

And speaking of green energy, birders from near and far are letting the world know these monster wind mills being built all over the country are killing millions of birds each year. If you like birds you must hate those “wind farms” plus they can’t fill the need anymore than can the solar stations. On a small scale maybe, anything larger no way.

A war on terrorism is escalating in the United States, FBI says is the most serious type of domestic terrorism in the country today – involves radical environmentalists and animal-rights activists. Even in Oregon and Arizona.

In Arizona environmental groups tried to use the lead shot ban to curb hunting within two national monuments located in the Arizona Strip. The greenies goal was to require the BLM to pass a law requiring the use of non-lead shot ammunition by hunters in these areas.

Thank goodness a U.S. District Judge ruled against the greenies, in this case, the Center for Biological Diversity, which claimed that hunters using lead ammunition in the two areas threatened protected species like the California condor.

The judges ruling against the self-serving people-hating environmentalist was just another slap in the face of those boils on the butt of humanity.

However, the lawsuits will continue in this overly “politically correct” environment using the legal system to dilute the rights of the hard working taxpayers who pay for the rulings. Especially if the greenies have a judge in their pocket much like the judge in Montana.

And, those are just a few of the misadventures of the anti-hunting/greenie crowd that have taken place so far this year. My comment – it’s about time.
